Health & Safety Conditions

Most of these rules are covered with a dash of common sense and courtesy, but for health and safety reasons, we must list these site conditions:

Vehicles

  • Vehicle access to site is by driveway only.
  • All walkways, pathways and driveways have a speed limit of 5mph.
  • All vehicles on site must be insured and hold a valid MOT certificate.
  • Vehicles on site will only be under the control of a person holding the appropriate licence.
  • All reversing manoeuvres will require a third party to act as a banksman.
  • There is no parking on the approaches to the site.

Facilities

  • Regular inspections and cleaning of facilities will take place, but users are to report any damages or issues directly to the site manager.
  • All users are expected to be considerate and only use the facilities for their intended purpose.
  • Please turn off taps after use. External water outlets should not be used for washing or teeth cleaning, so as to avoid run off and spillages.
  • Please leave facilities clean and tidy, clear any spillages and remove all your waste. 
  • Cleaning products are available, but are stored away and not to be used by children. 
  • Water supplies on site are mains fed and suitable for drinking, outlets will be inspected regularly. 
  • The water supply is mains-fed cold water, there is no hot water available to users.
  • There are no gas installations on site.
  • Lighting on site is reduced so as to manage light pollution.
  • All site users are expected to retain a torch that provides suitable and sufficient light with good battery supply to ensure safe movement around the site at night.

Campervans, Caravans & Tents

  • Drivers are expected to be competent in the use of campervans and caravans.
  • All electrical hook-up points are to be used appropriately and any damage or wear and tear to be reported to the site manager. 
  • Campers are expected to erect their tents appropriately and ensure that all tent pegs, guide ropes and personal equipment are well maintained do not cause a trip hazard. 
  • The site manager will ensure that where a safety issue cannot be immediately remedied that hazard tape is used to create a safety zone until remedial work can be completed.

Electricity

  • The site manager will ensure regular checks, electrical testing and inspection reports for all electrical installations and hook-up equipment.
  • Work will be undertaken by a competent person with NICEIC accreditation and regular RCD checks.
  • Overhead cables near site are maintained by the appropriate authority. Any damage or incidents involving the overhead cables will not affect site but will be visually inspected at regular intervals.

Compressed Gas

  • No compressed gas cylinders are stored on site.
  • All compressed gas cylinders in use within caravans and mobile homes must be used in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Camping gas cylinders are to be stored outside of tents.
  • All compressed gas cylinders must be turned off at the valve when not in use.

Individual Responsibility

  • Please wear appropriate footwear at all times.
  • Walkways and paths are well maintained. 
  • Climbing on gates & fences is strictly prohibited.
  • The small pond near the campsite is on private ground is not accessible to site users, it is fenced off and signs are in place warning of danger.
  • All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times whilst on site.
  • The campsite is open all year round, so please be prepared for inclement weather.
  • All users are expected to have the appropriate first aid facilities.
  • First aid will be available on site but only for minor injuries.
  • All site users are expected to secure personal or expensive items.
  • Any loss or theft must be reported to the site manager. 
  • Site users are expected to report any thefts to the police.

Fire Safety

  • Fire alarm bells are installed.
  • The fire assembly point is at the main entrance of the campsite, look out for the signage. 
  • Spacing of all vehicles and tents is at least 6m to prevent fire spread.
  • No cooking or use of BBQ’s is permitted in or around tents.
  • Purpose built BBQ’s in good condition can be used on site, but must be away from tents and vehicles.
  • Disposable BBQ’s are permitted but must be used away from tents and vehicles. A bucket of water must be close to hand when using and they must be fully extinguished after use, when completely cool.
  • No children are permitted to use BBQ’s without adult supervision.
  • All caravans and motor homes should have appropriate extinguishing facilities.
  • No smoking inside tents.
  • Campfires are permitted but only with the permission of the site manager. 
  • External water supply available on site.
  • Firefighting equipment is on site, readily available and annually maintained. 
  • No fireworks or Chinese lanterns are permitted please.
